today announced that Donald W. Griffin, 64, Chairman, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Olin Corporation, has been elected to Barnes Group's Board
of Directors. The election, which brings the Board membership to nine, was made
effective at today's regularly scheduled Board meeting.
Mr. Griffin has over four decades of management and marketing experience with
Olin. Olin Corporation, based in Norwalk, Connecticut, is a leading North
American producer of copper and copper-based alloys, ammunition, chlorine and
caustic soda. In 2000, Olin had sales of $1.5 billion.
