Barnes Group Appoints Richard P. McCorry President, Associated Spring

BRISTOL, Conn., Apr 29, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Barnes Group Inc. (NYSE: B) today announced that Richard P. McCorry will be appointed President of its Associated Spring business unit effective May 1, 2003; Associated Spring had 2002 sales of $322 million. Mr. McCorry succeeds Leonard M. Carlucci, who retired as President of Associated Spring on April 1, 2003.

Prior to joining Barnes Group Inc., Mr. McCorry was with Textron, Inc., a multi-industry company, where he held several executive positions including: President, Textron Power Transmission, which provides mechanical power transmission components and systems for the industrial, defense, mining and mobile equipment and transportation markets; Executive Vice President, Global Operations, Textron Industrial Products, Textron's industrial segment; and Managing Director, Textron Breed Automotive, S.r.l.

From 1985 to 1997, Mr. McCorry was with Lear Corporation, a Fortune 500 supplier of interior products to the automotive OEM market, and Masland Industries, where he held various management positions of increasing responsibility.

Mr. McCorry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University, and completed the Advanced Executive Management Program at the Wharton School of Business.
